Our Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a single vineyard of only 26 acres, averaging 1800 feet atop the rocky slopes of southwestern Napa Valley. Robert Craig consulted in planting this vineyard over 19 years ago, and the vines are mature enough to showcase all of Mt. Veeder’s unique complexity.
Its topography of steep slopes and ridgelines, which can change in elevation by as much as 500 feet, creates many different vineyard microclimates with varying exposures to sun, wind and fog. Well-drained blue shale and sandstone soils typically yield less than two tons per acre.
The resulting Cabernets are highly prized for deep, black mountain fruit, cassis, dark chocolate and hints of violets, mint and spice.
